Rent

A Lease Agreement is concluded for the 10 month accademic year, being 01 February to 30 November.

Rental for 2027 is:

  • Shared room (± 12m² each) – R6 500 pm
  • Small single room (± 12m²) – R8 400 pm
  • Large single room (± 24m²) – R8 800 pm

NSFAS allowance capped for 2027 at R5 200 pm

  • Take note that rent is payable in advance.
  • The first month’s rent / co-payment, is payable before the keys are handed over or occupation permitted.

Fees & Deposit

Fees

  • Contract fee of R500 (non-refundable) is payable on application.
  • If a room is vacated and not handed over in a clean and neat condition, a charge will be deducted from the deposit.
  • If the mattress cover is not washed and handed back, a charge will be deducted from the deposit.
  • If when vacating the room, the kitchen and bathroom are not in a neat and clean condition, a charge will be deducted from the deposit.

Deposit

  • A refundable deposit is payable equal to one month’s rent.
  • NSFAS students pay a deposit of R3 000.

NSFAS

National Student Financial Aid Scheme
 

{Capped amount for 2026 was R5 200 per month x 10 = R52 000 annually}

Any excess over and above the capped NSFAS amount, is for the account of the student (referred to as the co-payment).

The student confirms that she/he is NSFAS approved and not awaiting approval or on appeal. If so, the contract can be cancelled with immediate effect.
